Women Body Acceptance
Photobook
by Marta Karkosa

An intimate diary featuring the first seven heroines of the @women.body.acceptance project—originally envisioned as a photobook, but in the process, it grew to include dozens of incredible women. The idea was born from my need to explore my own femininity, my love for the beauty of all women’s bodies, and my curiosity about why so few of us fully accept our own.

This publication presents the collective female stories and photographs of women with whom I discussed body acceptance, personal perspectives on femininity, intimacy, and society’s perception of the female body. It also serves as a journal, incorporating my thoughts and reflections gathered over two years. Each heroine represents a different stage of life, with a ten-year gap between them—the youngest, Maja, is 18, while the eldest, my grandmother, is 82. Through this, I sought to understand whether body acceptance evolves with age.
